Within the last 10 years they have been perfected to control and vary the speed of 3 phase electric motors. They serve many purposes, besides speed control. The correct way to select a VFD is to
match its output current with the motor
rated current. However,
this listing also presents the expected motor
horsepower for each VFD model. Use the
motor power ratings only as a guide. ALWAYS compare motor FLA to Nominal AMPS of drive.
